End of National Playwriting Month

So, the plan was to complete a full-length (75 page) play by the end of November. I got close... 52 pages or so of "Goody Goody." It's not a full play; I don't know what it is exactly. Perhaps it's the first act of the play. I don't even really know what it's all building to. I once thought it was the story of a young stripper trying to be good, then it was about young man having to decide between being a "nice guy" or a bit of a deviant, but then it turned into a play about a family and the tangled webs of relationships all stemming from this one woman... Is that the play I want to write? I'm not sure. It's partly inspired by "The Brothers Karamazov," so part of my plan is to finish reading Karamazov (I'm over half-way there) and see what Dostoevsky has in store for the characters... I really think that the first and second halves of my play are going to be considerably different in tone and in action. The first half is somewhat slow-moving, driven by conversation. The second half will be more oriented in the consequences of the first half of the play... The first half of the play is missing an integral scene: a big fight between the father and one of the sons. When does it happen? I'm not sure... I have to write it and then see exactly where it fits into the structure. I know what the final scene of the "act" wants to be... I just have to sort it all out.
