News and Other Bits

The semester is starting to get busy and it's only been a week and a half. My FINAL workshop date at the University of Iowa has been scheduled on Feb 13th. So, I basically have 2 weeks to finish "Learned Ladies." I have one act. I just have to complete act 2. Plus, rewrite "All Grace" for the process of the Iowa New Play Festival. Come to Iowa City in May and see my play!

In other news, I was callled yesterday by the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA. My play "Solamente Una Vez" is one of four finalists for the Kendeda MFA Playwriting Competition! This means that "Solamente will have staged reading in either late-Sept. or early-Oct. at the Alliance Theatre! I'm so excited to be able to hear my work outside of the educational setting and having an audience of the "public" and not of colleagues. So... Chris Leyva is going to be heading back to Georgia! More news as it develops!
