The first draft of the new and improved "Drowning Dance" is completed. I'm just trying to figure out more about what I want the play to be. I think it's very close to what I was attempting to accomplish, but, of course, I'm sure there's some fine-tuning that needs to be done, especially in the clarification of character relationships and the timeline. That's nitpicky plot stuff though. On the whole, the characters are what I want them to be and, I think, the play (even the ending) moves towards a deeper theme than I had first imagined. How does a play do that? How do you plan on writing a particular play and then it ends up being something different, yet somehow better?
